Big Girl Bed
2009 marked the beginning of an era. Hannah Ruth moved out of her toddler bed and into a standard twin size bed. One Saturday Rick and Ryan picked it up and put it together. We showed it to her when it was all done and she loved it! She loves her bed and I admit, it is a comfortable mattress! The interesting thing was as soon as she moved into her big girl bed she gave up her buddies - the love objects she has had since she was a baby. Cold turkey. All at once. If she was a big girl, then she would act like a big girl. We didn't ask her to give them up. It was her idea. She never ceases to amaze me.

This picture and story brought tears to my eyes. She loved her buddies, they were her comfort, her "blankie", her "nupie", she needed them to go to sleep!!! She truly is amazing. But then, we have known from the start that she is one special little girl. There is a reason that God told you to adopt a little girl from China. She is meant to be yours (ours). She is going to do special things that we don't know about yet. I hope we are there to see it happen! Love......
