Wednesday evening
It is 8:00 here and Hannah Ruth is down for the night (hopefully.) Hannah Ruth slept very well last night. She went to bed at 8:30 and slept until 7:00 this morning. She finally let Rick give her a bottle - her first one of the day. We then had a leisurely breakfast in the hotel. She fell asleep about 9:15 which was not good because we were leaving at 10:00. We had to wake her up and once again, she did not get her nap out. We traveled about 1.5 hours to Feng Cheng city to see the babies' finding places. The driving here is unbelievable. You literally cannot watch. Traffic rules are merely suggestions. We saw Hannah Ruth's finding place and have decided to lock that information away for her. We decided that it is her story and therefore her story to tell if and when she wants. We also stopped at a village and there was no running water, wires strung outside for electricity and several generations living in one home. It makes you realize that the poorest of the poor in the U.S. are living well compared to the poor here.
Hannah Ruth wants all mommy all the time. She is so sweet and happy as long as she is in my arms, which is fine until I need to do something personal. Rick is being great helping, but he wishes that he could help by holding her from time to time. Rick and the boys make her smile and laugh, but she wants me.
We were getting a little concerned that she still had not had a bowel movement and her tummy was looking a bit distended. This evening she was real fussy and we knew part of that was lack of a good nap. (She also fell asleep 20 minutes before we arrived back at the hotel and woke up soon after we returned.) Richmond said, "I wonder if she would go on the potty." Rick said, "It is worth a try." I held her on the potty, much against her wishes, and she did go potty, but it wasn't as easy as it should have been. I have heard that the Chinese sometimes try to potty train them very early - but she is only 10 months! We are not sure exactly what to make of this development.
When we returned from Feng Cheng we had pizza delivered. It was 3:00 so we didn't feel very hungry for supper (and the hotel buffet is $$) so we just had a pack of nabs. Our hotel is not on a main drag so we do not have many options for eating. Our guide ordered the pizza for everyone. Pizza was a tasty change from Chinese food. Of course a veggie pizza here also includes corn and pineapple. The boys had meat lovers. I don't think anyone tried to identify the meats included. We will tour Nanchang tomorrow. I hope to find some porcelain for Hannah Ruth since this province is known for porcelain.
Thanks for the prayers and the comments. We love them both. No pictures tonight as we did not take many today. We will do better tomorrow - promise.

Hello to all,
We are so excited to see all the pictures of Hannah Ruth, she is so beautiful. Lori, the picutre of you and Hannah Ruth is sublime. Rick, never fear you will get more than enough opportunities to hold and snuggle Hannah Ruth in the near future. She is so blessed to be in your family. What an incredible story you have to share.
We will have small group tonight and will pray for your safe return and your continued protection. Earl said to try Dark Karo in her bottle(1 Tbs) if you can find it at Wal-Mart. It will help to her to use the bathroom without cramping and discomfort. We love you all and will be thinking of you often and can't wait for you to get home.
