Last Post from China

Hi Friends! This will be our last post from China. We leave early tomorrow morning for a 8:20 flight from Guangzhou to Tokyo, then Tokyo to Detroit, Detroit to Memphis, and finally Memphis to Tupelo. All in all we will be traveling about 24 hours! Hannah Ruth is already enjoying books as you can see from the picture. She is so smart! She is a problem solver. She is determined. We look forward to you meeting her.

We shopped yesterday afternoon on Shamian Island until our Chinese yuan ran out. We ate dinner at a Thai restaurant. This morning we had group pictures and then this afternoon we will go to the US consulate to pick up Hannah Ruth's U.S. visa. Within about 36-42 hours, she will be on U.S. soil and a U.S. citizen.

She is joyful. She loves to move which is why we need those prayers for the plane flight. Her new trick today was after crawling to the cabinets, pulling up, cruising across, she is trying to let go and walk! Everyday she wants to do more. (She is not ready to walk and falls down. She doesn't cry, but gets up and tries again.) She has been on a great schedule, but we will have to transfer that to Central Daylight time and then readjust to Standard time. I am hoping we will recover soon.

I don't have much to add except that we are ready to come home. We do hope to come back some day and show Hannah Ruth her "roots," but that will be many years from now. You have all been great to follow along and keep us in prayer. Our odyssey beginning in my heart nearly 10 years ago is about to end. No, I guess it is really just beginning! Blessings to all.

Wow! God is so faithful! Ten years of hearing and being faithful to His voice and now our Hannah Ruth is on her way home. She is so precious and beautiful. Meg said Michel took a picture of her to school to put on her locker, and Eli pasted her picture right in the center of a workbook that displays his favorite things.
The plane trip is so long, my prayer is that she will learn to read on the way home! Well, you said she is smart!
I love all of you so much and can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving.
